Opaque

Opaque is a project by CJ Hendry, australian artist that perfectly blends hyperrealistic drawing, installation and audience participation. The series features Hendry's meticulously rendered colored-pencil drawings of ice cream scoops in vibrant colors. Buyers purchased prints without knowing whether they would receive a standard edition or the one original drawing featuring the coveted black ice cream scoop.
The green ice cream scoop exhibited here comes from my own collection and was acquired through this project. What attracted me was not only the drawing itself, but the clever concept behind it, a reminder that art can extend far beyond the artwork hanging on the wall.
